Väldigt virkat
Approximately a year ago, Erica Laurell was asked by the publishing house Natur & Kultur to create and write a book about crocheting. Natur & Kultur saw the potential in collaborating with Erica Laurell, since she had become in a very short time, one of the most loved young Swedish designers of today. In addition there were talks about models backstage in the international fashion shows that had started to crochet. Long ago, Crocheting was considered as an occupation for older women and housewives, but it has become a house-training skill in the highest circles of the fashion society.
“I started to crochet as a five year old and since then I have always crochet in my free time and learned more difficult techniques, later on I started to experiment myself and created my own patterns and diverse techniques” tells Erica Laurell. The crochet book ”Väldigt virkat”, will contain over eighty crochet descriptions, all from clothes and accessories to home furnishings and children’s toys, and in a mixture of delightful colours and patterns.
